The rate of attacks against NATO forces and other facilities in Southern Afghanistan has been increasing. Yesterday four US soldiers and also four NATO soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack. The 17,000 US troops being deployed soon are being tasked with simply keeping the road from Kandahar to Kabul open. If you can't control the situation on the ground, then the "Afghanistan Fight Turns to Economy, Governance", hoping to control('occupy' if you would)the infrastructure of the country until the tactical military situation improves.

EX-president Bush will be giving a speech in Canada today, and for what it's worth, the Canadian constitution appears to bar potential war criminals from entering the country. Some Canadians believe George W. Bush IS that. Expect protests.

Sara Jane Olson, ex-SLA member will be released after returning voluntarily to prison last year due to 'clerical errors' causing her early release.

The California state assembly has failed to pass a 20 week extension on unemployment benefits (Where Da' Buffalo resides, the unemployment rate is double-digits, around 12%) even though this benefit extension would be funded by federal money. It failed by one Rethuglican vote.

There is also an environmental battle brewing in the US senate.
Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee ranking member Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) used the confirmation hearing for Interior deputy secretary nominee David Hayes last week to rail against Obama's energy policies, saying the administration's 2010 budget blueprint is "a war on domestic production." The Small Business Administration will be disbursing $230 million dollars in federal funds to help American small businesses through the 'slump'.

The Food and Drug Administration says there will be 'country of origination (COOL)' labelling on US foodstuffs, produce, and meat, in the near future. America is going to find out how dependent we've become on 'OPP'... "Other People's Produce".
